The Critical Care Transport Medicine Conference (CCTMC) will once again feature a Scientific Forum with poster presentations of original scientific research. Poster presentations will be formally judged during the conference on April 9th and an Outstanding Research Award bestowed. Accepted abstracts will be published in the Air Medical Journal. Abstracts presented at other meetings during 2013-2014 will be considered. If abstracts have been published prior they will not be republished in the Air Medical Journal. Our goal is to nurture and provide an appropriate forum for research in air medical transport.

CRITICAL CARE PROCEDURAL ANATOMY PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

This portion of the Conference is for transport crew members who wish to update and practice critical care techniques that will enhance their ability to provide the best possible care to patients who are most in need.  The program offers state-of-the-art updates on clinical procedures.  The didactic sessions include topics on emergent airway management, surgical airway management, chest tube insertion and management and pericardiocentesis, ventilation assessment and ventilator management, intraosseous vascular access, and tourniquets and control of bleeding.  A procedure Lab will be provided for participants to practice the techniques they have discussed during the lecture session.

SCIENTIFIC FORUM

Posters will be presented and reviewed on April 9th and an Outstanding Research Award will be given prior to the opening General Session on April 1.  Our goal is to nurture and provide an appropriate forum for research in ground and air medical transport.  Contact Reed.brozen@dartmouth.edu
