SOAR Campaign

IAFCCP signed on as a supporter of the Save Our Air Medical Resources (SOAR) Campaign. SOAR is a joint effort to raise awareness of the role that air medical plays in delivering high-quality and timely care to patients in emergency situations, and to urge policymakers to address drastically low government reimbursement rates which threaten public access to air medical.

What is the SOAR campaign?

SOAR is a national campaign dedicated to preserving access to emergency air medical services for Americans across the country by providing important education and resources to the public and to key decision and policymakers. Air medical resources are a critical element of emergency response across the country, particularly for people living in rural areas where access to trauma care facilities is quite often limited. The goals of the campaign are to educate the public about emergency air medical services and the need to fix the reimbursement shortfall in Medicare and Medicaid, and elicit support for insurers to work in good faith to work for fair reimbursement.

Who is involved in the campaign?

The SOAR campaign includes air medical industry experts, flight paramedics and nurses, health care organizations, and patients who rely on emergency air medical services. SOAR continues to engage with relevant national and regional organizations who could be potential partners in the campaign. Get involved:

  • Twitter and Facebook. Like SOAR on Facebook and follow them on Twitter to stay up to date about the air medical community and retweet to amplify valuable information about this life-saving service.
  • Send an email to Capitol Hill. SOAR continues its work to raise awareness about the bipartisan Ensuring Access to Air Ambulance Services Act (H.R. 3378/S. 2121) legislation that would preserve patient access to emergency air medical services, especially in rural America. Reach out to your member of Congress and ask them to support and co-sponsor this key piece of legislation.
