IAFCCP to Conduct Cadaver Lab at AMTC
Tuesday October 23, 2:00pm -  4:30pm


The cadaver lab will be approximately 120 minutes long and will accommodate 60 participants. The cadaver lab will be conducted using qualified instructors and non-embalmed cadavers. During the course of the cadaver lab, participants will have the opportunity to observe a variety of critical care skills utilized in high acuity
patient transports.

Skills Demonstrated During Lab

  • Gross Anatomy Dissection Lab
  • Airway Management to include Bag valve management, oral intubation, video
    laryngoscopy, needle and surgical cricothyrotomy, bougie and non-tracheal airways.
  • Ventilator Management
  • Chest Tube Insertion and Needle
  • Decompression
  • Intraosseous Placement
  • Escharotomy
  • Ultrasound Guided Access
  • Pericardiocentesis
  • Wound Management skills

    This valuable learning experience is offered to AMTC participants at no cost through generous support from Air Methods Corporation.


Lab Objectives

  • To educate the critical care provider on the importance and value of cadaver lab training

  • To focus on high risk, low volume procedures and how they affect the human body

  • To provide an in-depth focus on multiple body systems

  • Provide a learning experience that will enhance the skills and abilities of clinicians in the transport environment


A non-refundable charge of $20 covers your round-trip transportation from the convention center to the lab.
